I have extensive project experience with builders, remodelers, homeowners, architects, designers, property managers, facilities managers, insurance restoration companies on new construction, remodels, window replacements, and historic renovations.
I have broad experience in all aspects of new and remodel construction including blueprint take-offs, window and door schedules, architectural drawings and technical data, construction specifications, contract documents, local and national building codes, etc.
I am a Commercial Account Manager for Marvin Design Gallery by Laurence Smith, located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Although Marvin Design Gallery has only been open since 2009, we are a division of Laurence Smith Window & Door, a family owned and operated company serving Michigan since 1939. Our headquarters and distribution center are conveniently located in Bay City. For nearly 70 years, we, at Laurence Smith have focused on what we do best: Windows & Doors. I joined the Metro Detroit Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute in 2008. CSI is a national association dedicated to creating standards and formats to improve construction documents and project delivery. The organization is unique in the industry in that its members are a cross section of specifiers, architects, engineers, contractors and building materials suppliers. I have met some really great people and rekindled several old relationships.
I earned my Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) certification in September 2008. I have served on the Board of Directors since 2009. I currently serve as Chapter Treasurer for fiscal year 2010-2011.
